About Us

Dance It Up opened July 17, 2005. I had a vision that I could make a place where children not only learned to dance, but learned life lessons. I wanted to instill skills in them such as determination, motivation, self confidence, discipline, time management, and respect for themselves and their peers among many other lessons. I wanted to take my morals and values instilled when I was a young child and share them. I wanted them to learn to be gracious in winning and generous in defeat. Fear of working too hard was not a lesson that they would ever experience, but fear of not working hard enough is something that they have come to live by. By pushing themselves to the limit, seeing progress, and expecting more of them than they would ever expect from themselves is what they have come to know.

I truly think that this message of inspiration has grown in Dance It Up. The kids have come to appreciate that guidance as well as expect it. My hope is that when these dancers grow up they will not only be amazing dancers but beautiful people. I've always promised my students "you can always come home at Dance It Up. I will still be challenging you more than any other and supporting you like the sail on your boat, hoping to help point you in the right direction." I encourage you to join a home where "I Can't" may never be said and a positive atmosphere filled with education, love and happiness is what we fight to keep every day that our doors are open.
